Freud America, Inc. expands its revolutionary, patented Quadra-Cut™ router bit design for flawless finish with no rework to key 1/4” shank profile bits. Until now, this unique, award-winning four-cutter design was only offered in 1/2” shank router bits. With this new introduction, any woodworker or professional job site installer with a handheld router or a 1/4” collet table router will be able to get the same dramatic smooth finish that previously was reserved for the 1/2” collet router.

Freud’s Quadra-Cut™ router bits provide the cleanest finish for routing the edges of both hard and soft wood. These one-of-a-kind router bit designs employ four cutting edges, versus the industry standard of two, for a flawless finish on the most delicate of materials. Two of the carbide cutters have an up-shear angle to remove most of the stock. Then the pair of down-shear cutters make a final cut to produce an ultra clean edge. Industry standard bits that only have two cutters can leave fuzz and splinters on the top surface, especially in cross grain cuts, but Freud’s new Quadra-Cut™ bits leave a surface that requires no sanding or rework.

Freud’s Quadra-Cut™ 1/4'’ Shank Router Bits Feature:
Exclusive Freud-made TiCo™ Hi-Density Carbide with Titanium is designed and manufactured by Freud specifically for each cutting application to maximize cutting life and material finish in a variety of materials.
• Perma-SHIELD® Permanent Non-Stick Coating reduces friction and resin adhesion while preventing corrosion for less work and cleaner cuts.
• Tri-Metal Brazing consists of copper sandwiched between two layers of silver alloy to create a stronger, more impact-resistant bond between the carbide and the bit.
• Computer Balancing reduces chatter, resulting in clean, smooth profiles.
• Multi-Axis Grinding provides consistent relief angles on the entire cutting edge, which reduces burning and provides a flawless finish.
• Kickback-Reducing Design restricts the amount of material that can be fed, reducing the effects of kickback from overfeeding.

No matter how you use the joint, it’s critical that you cut tongues and grooves that fit snug and also align the work pieces precisely. Fortunately, Freud’s adjustable tongue & groove router bit set makes doing that easy and straightforward… Read more

People love the unique look of a beautifully made box joint. But interestingly, the box joint was not always admired for its beauty. Rather it was revered for its strength. In the days before modern packaging, many products came in wooden boxes that were held together with strong interlocking “box” joints; hence the name. These joints were particularly sturdy due to the increased gluing surface between the fingers of the joint… Read more
